Glass floors: structure, load, 2026 price
Laminated under the floor is engineering, not decoration. Substructure requirements, typical-span prices, real cases.
A glass floor isn't "buy a panel and lay it." It's a 3–4 layer PVB-laminated glass package on a steel frame with anti-slip coating, engineered to SP code for the specific span and load.
01Structure
Glass
Residential standard: 6+6+8 mm laminated with two 0.76 mm PVB films. 22 mm package, holds 600 kg/m² point load. Commercial: 8+8+10 with 1.52 mm PVB, 1000 kg/m².
Frame
Steel profile 80×40 mm or 100×60 mm. Max beam spacing 1 m residential, 0.8 m commercial. Anchored to floor slab.
Anti-slip
R10 (interiors) or R11 (wet zones). Sandblast pattern + protective coat. Doesn't wear off.
| Use | Build | Per m² |
|---|---|---|
| Residential walk | 6+6+8 PVB | from 22 000 ₽ |
| Public | 8+8+10 PVB 1.52 | from 32 000 ₽ |
| LED edge-lit | edge strip | +8 000 ₽ |
| Smart Glass floor | with PDLC | from 78 000 ₽ |
Most common complaint after 2 years: "scratches appeared." Normal. Anti-slip sandblast has texture that collects dust and shoe grit. Prevention: weekly soft-brush cleaning.
