A glass canopy looks "light" but it's 80–250 kg of glass hanging over visitors' heads. Structurally it's a small cantilever bridge that must be designed for snow, wind and dead weight.
01Snow: the key parameter in St. Petersburg
SP 20.13330 places St. Petersburg in snow zone 3 — design load 180 kg/m². A 3°+ slope sheds snow naturally. A horizontal canopy can exceed design load after a thaw-freeze cycle.

Don't go shorter than 80 cm depth. Door width + 20 cm on each side is the minimum that protects the door and visitor from rain.
